Help for survivors in shattered lands
05 January 2005
 | | Shattered |
CHURCHES across North Kent are frantically rallying around to help the victims of the Tsunami disaster.
St Paul's and St Peter's Church, College Road, Hextable has generously donated £3500 from church funds and is hoping that its members will donate even more through Christian Aid.
Reverend Proctor said: "We've also printed out a page from Christian Aid's website for church members that says what the money will go towards."
They also held a minute's silence in each of the church's three services on Sunday as a mark of respect for those involved in the disaster.
In response to the disaster we at the Kentish Times are working to secure donations for the Disasters Emergency Committee with our very own Disaster Appeal.
See this week's Gravesend Reporter for an eyewitness account of the terrifying events, details of local fundraising efforts and how people in your borough have been affected.
