Band set to play one-off show as warm-up to major London gig in Hyde Park

Welsh rockers the Stereophonics have confirmed a special show at Margate Winter Gardens in a little over a week’s time.

The performance, on September 9, is a warm-up to their performance at Hyde Park in London the following day when they line up alongside the likes of Take That, Shania Twain and Blondie for BBC Radio 2’s live extravaganza.

Tickets for the show, which go on sale at noon today (Wednesday) are strictly limited to four per person.

Full price tickets - all are standing - are £35 and the show starts at 7.45pm.

Twenty years after their debut Word Gets Around and six number one albums later, Stereophonics are set to release their tenth studio album Scream Above The Sounds on November 3.

A spokesman for the venue said: “The name of the lead booker will be printed on each ticket.

“The lead booker must be in attendance and photo ID checks will be made on entry into the venue. If the ID does not match entry will be refused.

“If you are booking more than one ticket your guest must arrive at the concert at the same time as you. Failure to do so will result in the guest being turned away.”
