Musical based on Paramount Pictures film is set to come to Assembly Hall Theatre

Strictly Come Dancing’s 2016 winner Joanne Clifton will be making an appearance in Tunbridge Wells this month as the star of Flashdance - The Musical.

The musical, which will co-star Ben Adams, formerly of the boyband A1, will run at the Assembly Hall Theatre from November 13-18.

Based on the 1983 Paramount Pictures film, set in Pittsburgh, USA, Flashdance tells the story of 18 year old Alex Owens, a steel worker by day and ‘flashdancer’ at night, who dreams of training as a professional dancer.

Its score includes 80s hits such as Maniac, Manhunt, Gloria, I Love Rock & Roll and title track Flashdance - What a Feeling.

Flashdance will be coming to Tunbridge Wells as part of a UK tour and is produced by Selladoor Productions, who were also behind Footloose, Avenue Q and Little Shop of Horrors, and Runaway Entertainment, producers of Lazarus, In the Heights and Guys and Dolls.
