Reading striker stays with Ebbsfleet United until end of March

Reading have confirmed that Ebbsfleet United’s on-loan striker Gozie Ugwu will stay at Stonebridge Road until the end of the month.

Ugwu has been a revelation with the Fleet and has scored on his last two appearances for the club in their 2-1 home defeat to Southport and 3-2 away win at Gateshead last weekend

Ebbsfleet United boss Liam Daish said last week of his desire to keep the Royals youngster, who has come through their Academy set-up, and has now completed a deal which will see the 18-year-old stay in Kent until March 31.

“I have been pleased with Gozie. He is a good lad and has given us something different to what we have up front,” he said.

“It was disappointing that his first two possible games with the club were postponed but since then he has performed well. Reading have been pleased with his progress.”
