More than 700 fake DVDs were seized at a Swanley car boot sale last weekend as well as six people arrested.

Plain clothed officers from Kent Police’s Special Constabulary and a team from Trading Standards went down to Pedham boot fair on Sunday (27) following a tip off about the sale of counterfeit clothing and DVDs.

Four men were arrested on suspicion of committing offences under the Trademark Act and two Chinese nationals were arrested and handed over to the UK Border Agency on suspicion of entering the country illegally.

The undercover team seized more than 700 fake DVDs which will be destroyed after forensic examination.

PC Ian Packer, from the Special Constabulary, said: “We had fantastic feedback from those attending the boot fait and other stall holders about the action we took against these individuals as it makes a mockery of those who are running their stalls legitimately.

“We want to promote a feeling of protection to legitimate retailers. The illegal sales of counterfeit goods have financial implications for those who are trying to make an honest living.

“People engaged in these counterfeiting offences quite often do not realise that all the offences carry a sentence of up to 10 years imprisonment.”

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.

Who wouldn’t love the chance to go on a shopping spree. Imagine being able to walk into a shop and choose whatever your heart desires without having to worry about how much it costs.
