Police are appealing for witnesses after two men from the Gravesend area died following a collision on the A2 at Bean.

Officers were called just before 11pm on Saturday, March 10, to the London bound carriageway, close to the junction for Bean. A black Volkswagen Polo was reported to have collided with a white Volkswagen Golf.

It is believed the Golf may have broken down in the lane and was stationary when the collision occurred.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended and one man in his 20s, and another in his 30s, were declared dead at the scene. Both were from the Gravesend area and their next of kin have been informed.

Four other people sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. None of these are believed to be life threatening.

Anyone who saw the collision, or witnessed the vehicles prior to it, is asked to call the Serious Collison Investigation Unit.

Officers are particularly interested in speaking to people who may have dash cam footage of the white VW Golf before the collision.
