Officers are appealing for witnesses following reports of an assault in Orchard Street, Dartford.

The incident is reported to have happened between 10pm and 11pm on Tuesday, April 3.

A man is alleged to have pushed a woman into the street, before chasing her to a nearby car park and kicking her to the floor.

She then is reported to have suffered further kicks and punches to her legs and arms.

A 38-year-old man from Gravesend has been arrested in connection with the offence.

However officers are appealing for witnesses to gain further information, and would especially like to speak to a man who stopped the assault and then helped the woman back to her home address.

Witnesses are asked to call the Kent Police appeal line on 01474 366149 quoting reference XY/19317/18.

Alternatively, contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

The 38-year-old arrested in connection with the offence has been released on bail until Tuesday May 1.
