Armed robbery at Longfield jewellers

Two 15-year-old boys have been arrested following an armed robbery at a jewellery shop in Longfield last night.
The incident happened at 5.15pm at the family-run Bourne & Kemp jewellers in Station Road.
When the police arrived at the shop the two teenagers ran off.
A police helicopter, firearms officers and police dogs began a search and arrested the teenagers nearby.
Robert Bourne was in his shop with a colleague when the break-in happened.
Mr Bourne said: “I am very annoyed, very. But in Longfield there is a very good community spirit and it is through the vigilance in another shop that they got stopped by police.
“This is not rare for a jewellers but it is maybe rare for this area. We have had three incidents in the last nine years.”
Nothing was stolen in the incident and staff received minor injuries.
Inspector Guy Burrows said: “An investigation is currently underway but in the meantime police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything that might help in the investigation. I would also like to thank the members of the public who contacted police with information.”
