Bluewater’s new initiative to allow visitors to refill water bottles at retailer sites

Dartford shopping centre Bluewater has unveiled a new initiative which allows guests to fill up their water bottle for free at any retailer displaying a ‘Refill Me’ sticker in its window.

So far a total of 23 retailers have signed up to take part, with more expected in the coming weeks.

Bluewater brands signed up to the initiative include Costa, Caffè Nero, EAT, Starbucks, Coffee Republic, Pret, Krispy Kreme, Joe and The Juice, Lakeland, Bills, Côte, Carluccio’s, Pizza Express, Zizzi, Lola’s Cupcakes, Comptoir Libanais, Ask, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Byron and more.

The new campaign is part of the centre’s wider green strategy, which includes achieving 100pc diversion from landfill and recycling over 90pc of all waste being produced on the site.

General manager Robert Goodman said: “Sustainability is an integral part of Bluewater’s culture and we are thrilled to take part in the ‘Refill Me’ initiative.”
