Burglar hid ‘high value items’ in alleyway after stealing from Dartford store

A burglar will spend nearly six-months in prison after stealing “high value items” from a Dartford store.

Ashley Hornby, of no fixed address, was jailed on September 16 after being charged with burglary and theft.

The 37-year-old was arrested the day before after an alarm was trigged at a commercial property in Princes Road at around 5.30am.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and Hornby was found nearby and arrested. Officers later found the high value items which had been reported stolen hidden in a nearby alleyway. All of the items were recovered.”

Magistrates sentenced Hornby to spend 180 days in prison, he was also ordered to pay the £200 in compensation.
