Following the success of their Christmas event, Cobham Community Ladies Choir are presenting a new concert called French Connection.

The concert will take place at the choir’s recently refurbished 13th century parish church, St Mary Magdalene, Cobham.

The choir came together in June 2017, with the aim of having fun, being sociable and singing, and it now has more than 30 members from the local community, ranging in age from 15 to over 60.

The spring concert will feature Faure’s exquisite Requiem, in a rarely heard arrangement for female voice choir, alongside music from Oscar-nominated film The Chorus, and a selection of traditional French and jazz songs.

Young soprano Elizabeth Green will be joining, in her first concert as the choir’s artist in residence.

Audience members at the choir’s first public concert in December commented that their expectations had been hugely exceeded.

Concert tickets are £10 (£5 for under 18s) including free interval refreshments, and can be bought from www.ticketsource.co.uk/cobham-choir on 07562 666408 and from Cobham community stores.
