Court date for man charged with assaulting two police officers in Gravesend

A court date has been set for a man charged with assaulting two police officers at the weekend.

Shane Upton of no fixed address appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, charged with two counts of assaulting a constable in the execution of his/her duty well as two counts of actual bodily harm.

Mr Upton’s appearance in court follows an incident in All Saints Road at the weekend.

Police were called to the road, which is just off Perry Street, at around 4.40am on Saturday, September 23 where “a man was reported to be causing a disturbance in the area,” according to a Kent Police spokesperson.

The 22-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday 25 October 2017.
