Just after 5.15am, witnesses reported a JCB digger being used to smash down a wall of the building.

Staff who were inside the building at the time were unhurt and no cash was stolen.

The suspects, about five or six offenders who had their faces covered, abandoned their attempts to enter the building.

They drove off from the scene, leaving the JCB behind.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
