Gravesend’s Cyclopark boss said this week he would love to see the next Bradley Wiggins come from north Kent now that it has state of the art biking facilities.

As Wiggins became the first British man to win the Tour de France, the track’s chief executive Laurence Tricker said he believed the next cycling superstar could be nurtured at Cyclopark, which has a 3km track for road racing and an international standard BMX track.

“I like to think the next Bradley Wiggins is coming from the Cyclopark,” said the 50-year-old. “We have all the facilities plus a British cycling coach and nutritional advice.” and a healing zone available here.”

Mr Tricker said that poor weather had hindered the park since it opened in May but now the summer has really started that ‘everything in place for a talented cyclist to succeed’.
