All lanes are open now but traffic remains heavy

Road works on the Dartford Crossing caused people to be stuck in their cars for multiple hours overnight.

Delays are easing off now, but some travellers reported, on social media, being stuck on the Kent side for five hours.

All lanes of the M25 are now open but traffic in the area is still heavy.

This comes at as a petition has been signed by over 1,000 people for an inquiry into the repeated delays at the crossing.

The removal of the toll booths has reportedly taken off an average of six minutes in journey time for travellers, according to Highways England.
