Kent Police are investigating a report that a man attempted to rob a newsagent in Dartford.

It is reported that at around 7.10am on Friday September 14 a man entered Riverview Newsagent in Henderson Drive and demanded money from a store worker.

While demanding the money, he was seen holding a bag, which the victim believes contained a weapon, and went on to assault a customer.

No money was exchanged and there have been no reports of anyone sustaining injuries.

A 24-year-old man from Dartford has been arrested in connection with the incident and he remains in custody as enquiries continue.

As part of their enquiries, officers would like to hear from anyone who believes they have information.

The suspect, who was last seen running in the direction of Shaftesbury Lane, is described as being around 6ft tall with a large build and a local accent.

He was wearing a dark hoodie, with the hood up, and had concealed his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 01474 366149 quoting XY/58884/18.
