A dance school has swept up at the World Dance Championships and brought eight gold medals back to Dartford.

The Paula Gosnell Dance School went down to Eastbourne for the annual competition to show off their fancy footwork in tap, hip-hop and folk dancing.

Altogether the team of 25, aged between seven and 73 years old, took home eight gold, five silver and two bronze medals from the four day festival.

Paula Gosnell said: “I am so proud of all of the students in the school for achieving so much in these championships. I know how much hard work went into our preparations and all the extra house of rehearsals that everybody put themselves through but it was worth it. With so many medals we won’t know where to put them all.”

The dance school received support from Dartford Council, The Orchard Theatre and Kent County Council to get them to the competition.

The dancers will be putting on a special show at The Orchard on Sunday September 30 to give people a chance to see their award-winning performances.
