SIX people have been arrested and released on bail following a series of drugs raids across north Kent.

Four warrants were executed by police on Thursday, April 10, and the following day at addresses in Gravesend and Greenhithe.

Quantities of cannabis, heroin and cash were also seized and the people arrested have now been released on bail as officers investigate.

Inspector Phil Painter, who leads North Kent's drugs intervention team, said: "We will continue to target those who illegally produce or deal drugs in Dartford and Gravesham and supported by the courts these people will go to jail.

"We also thank the community for their support which enables us to continue to remove these villains from their neighbourhoods."

At 11am on April 10, eight members of North Kent's neighbourhood tactical team raided an address in Forge Lane, Gravesend.

Vu Van Le, 26, was arrested and charged with the cultivation of cannabis. He appeared at Dartford Magistrates Court the following day (April 11) where he was remanded in custody.

Less than two hours later at 12.45pm patrol officers operating under a search warrant entered a house in Hampton Crescent, Gravesend. Three wraps of suspected heroin were found and a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. He was later bailed pending further inquiries.

Then, at 6pm, a third address was searched in Charles Street, Greenhithe by 10 members of North Kent's tactical and drugs intervention teams. Officers seized suspected cocaine and £1,000 in cash. They found a further £3,000 in cash during another search at an address in Bell Close, Stone.

Two men, aged 34 and 29 and a woman, aged 29, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the supply of class A drugs. They were later bailed pending further inquiries.

On the following day, six members of the tactical team raided an address in Hampton Crescent, Gravesend at 7.45am on Friday, April 11.

More than 12oz of both herbal and resin cannabis with an estimated street value of £1,200 were found.

A woman, aged 37, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class C drugs and the abstraction of electricity.

She was later bailed pending further inquiries.
