Firefighters are returning to the scene of a blaze which threatened to ignite nearby diesel tanks and cylinders in Eynsford.

Eyewitnesses and CCTV cameras at Godstone on the M25 saw smoke rising from the Lullingstone Lane area at around 11.10pm on Sunday night.

On arrival, crews discovered a single-storey farm building was “fully engulfed” by flames.

At the height of the inferno, 22 firefighters were at the scene, by 6am they were damping down hot spots and left the scene shortly after 7.30am.

The cause of the fire is now being investigated.

A spokesperson from Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “The property owner advised crews that there were diesel tanks and cylinders on the site, so crews set up ground monitors to cool these down and used thermal imaging cameras to take temperature readings.”

We have approached Kent Police for comment.
