A daredevil gran who fell 12,000ft from the sky has been named Fundraiser of the Year by the Macular Disease Society.
Jean Boyd, 80, from Dartford, is affected by the condition, which affects the central vision and is the most common cause of sight loss in the UK.
Nevertheless she completed a tandem skydive last year and raised more than £2000 for the charity.
She has now been recognised for her fearless efforts and will be presented with her award in September.
Jean said: “People are quite amazed when they find out that I’ve done a skydive. Hopefully this will help to go towards raising awareness of the condition.”
