Maintenance and horticultural work will cause a number of closures this week

Motorists using the M25 around the Dartford Crossing face a week of overnight disruption as ongoing maintenance work takes place alongside work to cut back overgrown bushes around the motorway.

The crossing itself is facing closures every night, with the west tunnel closed between 9pm and 5.30am from Monday to Saturday night, on Sunday the east tunnel will be closed as the west reopens.

Southbound traffic will see three lanes closed on the QEII Bridge between 10pm and 5.30am for four nights from Monday and again on Sunday for routine inspections.

Vehicles heading on to the M25 at junction 1a for Swanscombe will face problems as tunnel maintenance will close the northbound entry slip road from 9pm to 5.30am from Monday to Saturday night.

Work on Saturday will last from 8.30pm to 5am.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the southbound link road from junction 1b to junction 2 will be closed between 10pm and 5pm, with a diversion via the A282 in place.

The clockwise exit slip road to the junction 2 roundabout will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Tuesday for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the dedicated link road to the A2 to the B255 interchange and return.
