A 20-year-old woman died at the scene of a crash in Gravesend last night.

Now police are appealing for witnesses of the accident which occurred on Henhurst Road.

At about 10.20pm on March 15 a blue Renault Clio left the road, colliding with a telegraph pole, and came to rest on its roof.

A passenger sitting in the front seat, a 20-year-old local woman, died at the scene.

The driver, a 26-year-old man from Gravesend, sustained a minor head injury and was taken to a local hospital.

He has been arrested in connection with the incident and currently remains in police custody.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is asking any witnesses who saw the collision or the vehicle before the collision, and who have not yet spoken to officers, to contact the appeal line on 01622 798538 or email quoting RY/SM/050/17.
