Gravesend man charged with attempted murder

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have charged a man with attempted murder after a woman was seriously assaulted in Gravesend.

Officers were called to an initial report that a woman had been involved in a collision with a car in Dering Road at 10.07am, on Sunday May 13.

Following the incident, Patrick Molloy was identified as a suspect and detained on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 28-year-old, of Springhead Road in Northfleet, has been charged with the following:

·Attempted murder

·Driving a motor vehicle without a licence

·Using a motor vehicle without third party insurance

·Failing to provide a specimen for analysis

·Criminal damage

The victim, who is known to Molloy, was taken to hospital for treatment and her injuries are not life threatening.

Molloy has been remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday May 14.
