Officers have charged a 33-year-old man from Gravesend for being in possession of an air weapon.

At around 10am on Wednesday May 9 officers received a report that a man had threatened a woman with a gun at a block of flats in Alfred Road.

The woman was known to the man.

Firearms officers attended and a man was arrested.

Officers found an air gun in the man’s back garden.

Stephen Stanford, 33, of Alfred Road, Gravesend, was charged with possessing an air weapon with intent to cause fear or violence.

He has appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court and has been bailed to appear before Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday June 7.
