Hundreds of people have gathered in Gravesend town centre to watch the Olympic torch pass through.
Schoolchildren have lined the streets near the Gudwara to witness the iconic event.
The flame is due to enter the borough from Higham at 9.37am before travelling into the town centre by convoy. It will pass by the Gudwara in Saddington Street and the clock tower in Milton Road.
Mum Suzanne Martin, 41, said: I think it has been a nice build up. My son George’s school Holy Trinity have been doing so much for the Olympics. It’s been great for them. Today it feels like the Olympics have finally arrived.”
Harbhajan Singh Jutte, 60, said: “I have never seen anything like this before in Gravesend and I have lived here since 1965. It is great. The first time I have seen the torch relay or anything to do with Olympics. I have been here since 7am waiting.”
