A Cobham Hall student who was selected for Team GB during her GCSE exams will be representing her country at the European Championships in Glasgow.

As the school in Brewers Road celebrated at their annual sports day, Year 11 pupil Lilly Gibbs was presented with her Team GB kit.

A triathlete, Lilly recently competed at events in Nottingham and Thorpe Park in the midst of her exams.

She said: “The events were a great distraction and the perfect way for me to relax during my GCSEs!”

After a fantastic performance in Nottingham, Lilly was selected, and followed this with a second place finish in Thorpe Park, earning her qualification for next year as well.

Her new kit was presented to her by the school’s head of PE Kelli Hooper, who said: “I’m so thrilled for Lilly.

“She’s worked so hard and recent performances have shown she’s going from strength to strength. I can’t wait to watch her compete in Glasgow!”
