The first test event at the multi-million pound Cyclopark in Gravesend took place at the weekend when 350 competitors entered the South East BMX Championships.

Hundreds of spectators watched as Saturday saw a series of high-jumping practice sessions followed by the main race day on the Sunday.

Although not officially open a series of tests events are planned throughout the winter and regular Club Cyclopark sessions for youngters are planned.

Positioned on land, off Wrotham Road, Gravesend, the venue is a first class cycliing, running and extreme sports facility.

It is set to be launched in summer 2012 when the pavilion section is completed.
