Matthew is autistic he shares his amazing knowledge during a weekly assembly at his school bringing fun laughter to all.

Speaking before the relay he said: “I really want to become a sports personality and inspire others to take up sport and become fit and healthy. I want to teach sport to others. I want to take part in the Olympics as a reporter.

“When I leave school I want to go to college and learn more about sports so I can be a reporter or teacher. I want to be part of London 2012 as it will be a historic event.”

John Mackinish, 79, governor at Ifield School, said: “It is immense to have Matthew represent us.”
