Gravesham borough council will be taking part in this year’s country-wide Keep Britain Tidy campaign - the Great British Spring Clean.

The campaign will be sweeping across the nation on the weekend of March 2-4, in a bid to tidy up areas of the country.

Community groups, businesses and individuals are being called upon to organise litter picks in their areas across the weekend, but the council will also be on hand to help throughout the whole of March.

Groups can get in touch with the council to let them know when and where their litter pick will be held, and they will be proivded with equipment.

The council will also collect the rubbish afterwards.

Cabinet member for the environment, Cllr Alan Ridgers, said: “We will be encouraging and supporting groups and individuals who want to do their bit to help clear up the litter that blights our streets and parks.

“We’re delighted to be supporting the campaign and we encourage as many people as possible to be part of this great initiative.”

To organise a spring clean, let Kirsty Gaunt know by emailing Kirsty.Gaunt@gravesham.gov.uk.
