Plans for a theme park in Swanscombe that will rival Disneyland Paris have been unveiled.

The £2bn development could create up to 27,000 jobs for north Kent and will transform an 872-acre brownfield site into one of the world’s biggest entertainment parks.

The proposals include an indoor water park, theatres, live music venues, cinemas, restaurants, event space and hotels.

Hollywood film company Paramount is behind the plans, with development firm London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) assigned to manage it.

LRCH project manager Tony Sefton said: “Our vision is to create a world class entertainment destination, the first of its kind in the UK. Post Olympics, this is Britain’s next major regeneration opportunity.”

The site is on the doorstep of Ebbsfleet International station, meaning visitors can arrive easily from London or from Europe via Paris.

An independent study has suggested the park will attract many tourists to the UK each year, making a significant contribution to the economy.

In a joint statement, Dartford leader Jeremy Kite and Gravesham leader John Burden said: “This development represents a tremendous economic growth opportunity for the region.”

Following the planning application and community consultations, the park is expected to open in 2018.

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.

Who wouldn’t love the chance to go on a shopping spree. Imagine being able to walk into a shop and choose whatever your heart desires without having to worry about how much it costs.
