Disruption will last through the morning rush hour

Passengers on the morning commute are facing delays and diversions after a commuter was taken ill at Blackheath.

North Kent and Bexleyheath line services have reopened following an earlier closure, though delays are expected to remain until after 9am.

Trains from Blackheath towards Lewisham were suspended to allow paramedics to treat the patient.

Disruption is expected until 9.15am.

A spokesperson from Southeastern said: “While services recover, trains running through this station may be delayed or diverted.

“You can use your ticket on London Underground services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost.

“You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.”
