As Highways England back plans for a Thames crossing east of Gravesend, a public consultation was launched to get public opinion.

Running until March, the consultation is seeking feedback on the several potential routes a crossing east of Gravesend could take.

Two potential options could see a new entry slip on the M25, between junctions 29 and 30 in Essex.

The proposals would also see a new road built, possibly starting at the M2, heading north through the Kentish countryside near villages such as Shorne and Chalk.

During the consultation public exhibitions will be held to help the public understand the full proposals, and respond to the consultation, which ends March 24.
