Man charged in connection with shop burglaries across north and west Kent

The incidents all took place during November 2016

Police investigating a series of shop burglaries across north and west Kent have charged a man with eight offences.

The offences are reported to have taken place between 6 and 26 November 2016, and in most cases a large quantity of cigarettes was reported to have been taken.

Michael Chambers, 30 and formerly of Grange Park Road, Thornton Heath, was arrested in connection with the incidents on Tuesday, February 14.

The offences were carried out at shops in Hever Road, West Kingsdown; Pound Road, East Peckham; Chastilian Road, Dartford; Station Approach, Borough Green; The Row, New Ash Green; Wilsley Pound, Sissinghurst; Istead Rise, Gravesend; and Hever Road, West Kingsdown.

Chambers has been remanded in custody to appear in court at a date which is to be determined.
