Officers investigating an assault in Meopham have charged a man with attempted murder.

Alexander Weston, 42 of Church Fields, West Malling, was charged with one count of attempted murder on September 8.

The charge relates to an incident near Waterlow Road, Meopham, on September 3, where at around 12.45am a woman was reported to have been assaulted by a man known to her.

The woman was taken to a local hospital with head injuries.

Mr Weston appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on September 10 and was remanded to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on 8 October.
