Police are appealing for information following a sexual assault onboard a Route 96 bus, travelling from Bluewater Shopping Centre towards Woolwich.

The offence occurred on August 28, 2017 after a 17-year-old girl boarded the bus and went and sat upstairs.

A man who boarded the bus at Dartford Magistrates’ Court at approximately 6.30pm also went upstairs and sat next to her, despite there being other seats available.

He then began to sexually touch her.

At this point, the victim got up from her seat and confronted the man before getting off the bus at Plumstead Corner.

The man got off the bus shortly after at the junction of Plumstead High Street and Lakedale Road.

He is described as white, in his 40s, of medium build with short brown hair.

He wore a brown jacket, a blue T-shirt, white and black patterned shorts, grey Nike trainers and black sock. He was carrying a black rucksack.

Pc Chris May, investigating officer from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “We want to speak to this man in connection with this sexual assault.

“If you can identify him, or offer any information which could progress this investigation, we would like to hear from you.”

Anyone who recognises him or has any information is urged to contact police on 101 or via Twitter @MetCC.

To give information anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.

  • Two questions. A. Did he appear at the Magistrates Court prior to boarding the bus? B. Why has this taken so long to be made public? It should have been put out months ago.

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.

Who wouldn’t love the chance to go on a shopping spree. Imagine being able to walk into a shop and choose whatever your heart desires without having to worry about how much it costs.
