‘Mindless crooks’ targeted a children’s hospice twice in the space of eight days causing thousands of pounds of damage.

Staff from EllenorLions Centre in St Ronans View, Dartford, were devastated to discover the locks has been prised from two of the security doors when they arrived at work on August 13.

On Tuesday of last week (21), they found a glass door window had been smashed.

The charity’s chief executive Carol Stone said: “We are all very upset about the attempted break-ins. We are busy caring for over 120 very poorly children and young people, and supporting their families.

“These midless crooks cost thousands of pounds of damage. Our work is largely funded by donations from local people.

“I ask that those responsible think about the children in the care of the hospice.”

Kent Police are investigating.
