Gravesend’s young people now have a new state-of-the-art skateboard park at Ordnance Road after it was unveiled to the public last week.

“This is a magnificent facility which we hope the youngsters will enjoy – and can enjoy all the more because they have contributed so much,” said Council leader Cllr John Burden. “Raising such a sum of money in these difficult times is no mean feat.”

Builders struggled with the summer’s poor weather to get the concrete set in time for the opening.

A series of professional demos and workshops marked the opening of the park.
