Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a 29-year-old man believed to be the father of young children in Northfleet.

Police were called at around 11.10pm following reports of a disturbance at Holly Court.

Officers and ambulance crews attended and found the victim with life threatening injuries.

Despite efforts to save him, he died at the scene. It is not yet known how he was killed.

A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

The area remains cordoned to allow forensic officers to attend the scene.

A post-mortem examination was expected to be carried out this afternoon.

The victim and the two men arrested were known to each other, police said.

The man’s identity is not being released until next of kin have been informed.

A woman who lives in the area and did not want to be named said the victim was the father of young children and lived at the house with his girlfriend.

A male friend of the victim said: “I’ve lost a friend today.”

Resident Jessica Randall, 17, of Ford Road, who has lived in the area for seven years, said: “It’s not surprising but it is scary.”
