Thieves pinch pensioner’s handbag while shopping at Dartford supermarket

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was robbed of her handbag in a Dartford supermarket.

The victim, a woman in her 70s, was approached by two men while shopping in Iceland at around 11.30am on Saturday, September 9.

The duo spoke to her briefly before taking her handbag.

The first suspect is described as 6ft with dark brown hair, wearing light blue jeans and a black leather jacket.

The second is described as 6ft 2in, with a heavy build, wearing a grey jumper and blue jeans.

As officers continue to investigate, a Kent Police spokesperson made this appeal: “Anyone with information about the incident should call the Kent Police appeal line on 01474 366149 quoting reference number XY/46477/17.

“Alternatively, contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
