Delays have cleared

Two people have been taken to hospital following a crash near the Bluewater turn off of the A2 today (Wednesday).

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene after a lorry and car collided on the coastbound carriageway at around 10.45am.

Two lanes were blocked by the crash, but both have since reopened and delays have cleared.

A Secamb spokesperson confirmed one ambulance was sent to the scene, where two patients were checked over, one for back pain and the other for knee pain.

Both have been sent to Medway Maritime Hospital for further checks.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to a collision, reported to involve a lorry and a car, on the A2 coastbound at 10.42am on Wednesday May 17.

“The collision has partially blocked the carriageway and officers are at the scene, as are highways crews.”
