Motorists travelling from Kent to Essex are advised to allow extra time after a car broke down earlier this afternoon

The east tunnel at the Dartford Crossing has re-opened having been closed for several hours this afternoon after a car broke down.

Traffic travelling from Kent into Essex was queuing back to junction 4 of the M25 for Orpington, past exits for Bluewater and Swanley.

Delays remain in those areas as well as on the westbound carriageway of the A2 approaching junction 2 the M25, and on the A225 Princes Road approaching junction 1B and A206 Bob Dunn Way approaching junction 1A.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
