Commuters across Kent are being warned to brace for morning rush hour chaos as Storm Aileen batters the county.

The first named storm of the year hit overnight and will continue through the morning, bringing gusts of up to 75mph in some parts of the country.

As a result, some Southern train services are disrupted after a tree fell on the line between Tonbridge and Redhill.

On the roads, two lanes of the QEII Bridge at the Dartford Crossing were closed in the early hours, and while they have since re-opened, motorists are warned to expect delays throughout rush hour.

There were also delays on DFDS and P&O ferry services from Dover to Calais and Dunkirk, though these are now running to schedule.

A yellow wind warning - meaning a low likelihood of medium impacts - has been in place for Kent from 8pm last night and will remain until 10am this morning.
