Tea parties a fete and other events have been organised

Dartford residents will be able to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday at a host of events over the coming months.

Locals have had the chance to apply for grants of up to £500 to plan parties and events to celebrate the birthday of Britain’s longest reigning monarch.

Street parties, afternoon teas and a fete are among the events being held from April to June in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.

A party in Swanscombe park is being organised for Saturday June 11, while a traditional fete is set to be held at Sutton-at-Hone Recreation Ground on June 12.

A full list of events going on across Dartford is below.

· Thursday April 21, 2pm-4pm – Afternoon tea at 9th Dartford Scout Hall, Lower Heath Lane, Dartford, organised by Maggie Scholey/Dartford Association for the Disabled

· Friday April 29, 12pm-2pm – Afternoon tea for retired residents at Stone Pavilion organised by Stone Parish Council

· Saturday May 21, 12pm-4pm – Community Fun Day at Temple Hill Square organised by St Edmunds Church

· Thursday June 9, 1pm-4pm – Over 60s Group Tea Dance at St Edmunds Church organised by the Healthy Living Centre

· Saturday June 11, 12pm-3pm – Street Party/Picnic at Knights Manor Way organised by Margaret Drury

· Saturday June 11, 12pm-6pm – Street Party at Invicta Road organised by Lorraine Potton

· Saturday June 11, 12pm-4pm – Big Party on the Field at the Pavilion Fields, Swanscombe, organised by Pavilion Sports & Social Club

· Saturday June 11, 12pm-2pm - Party in the Park at Swanscombe Park organised by Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council

· Sunday June 12 June, 12pm – BIG Lunch for 400 people at Telford Square, The Bridge, organised by Beacon Church

· Sunday June 12, 2pm to late – Street Party at Brent Lane organised by Brenda Gibson

· Sunday June 12, 12pm-2pm – Street Party/Picnic at Ingress Park organised by Keith Kelly

· Sunday June 12, 12pm-7pm – Party with food & drink at The Foresters PH organised by Newtown Councillors

· Sunday June 12, times tbc – Traditional British Fete at Sutton-at-Hone Recreation Ground organised by Sutton-at- Hone & Hawley Parish Council

· Sunday June 12, 2pm-6pm – Tea Dance for Senior Citizens at Royal British Legion Greenhithe organised by Royal British Legion
