London resident Melanie Wilson along with Debbie Flood, Frances Houghton and Beth Rodford will be going into Monday’s repechage of the women’s quadruple sculls after finishing last as Ukraine comfortably triumphed.

The four made a slow start but gold favourites Ukraine made a dominant start and were three lengths clear of Australia going into the final few metres.

It was no surprise to see the favourites win and subsequently go through to the final.

And New Zealand stole a march at the last to take third place and condemn the Brit’s into last place.

The British side will be up against Australia, New Zealand, Poland, China and the USA in Monday’s repechage.
