Albert Square favourite Barbara Windsor has refused to rule out a return to ‘EastEnders’.

The 75-year-old actress - who is best known for her roles in a number of ‘Carry On’ films - played Queen Vic landlady Peggy Mitchell from 1994 to 2010, and she has now hinted about possibly reprising her role on the BBC One soap in the future.

When asked on a forthcoming episode of ‘The Rob Brydon Show’ if she would ever return to ‘EastEnders’, she replied: “I should never say never.”

Barbara clearly misses her ‘EastEnders’ alter-ego - whose catchphrases included, “Get out of my pub” - as during the chat show episode she soaks an audience member with a glass of water in a repeat of her character’s actions on the soap.

The actress - who quit ‘EastEnders’ after 16 years to spend more time with her husband Scott Mitchell - previously insisted the Albert Square battleaxe was not killed off to leave it open for her to return at some point in the future.

Barbara’s final scenes saw Peggy leave the show in a blaze of glory as the mouthy matriarch watched on as her beloved Queen Vic pub went up in flames after her son Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) set fire to the boozer.

At her leaving party, Barbara said: “I have had the most wonderful time on ‘EastEnders’ and I will miss you all.

“The show has changed my life and I want you all to continue the good work, because I’ll be at home watching you.”
