Judges at the style bible loved the Duchess’ championing of British designers and high street brands.

The wife of Prince William topped a varied list – including rapper Jay Z (5), actor Richard E Grant (12) and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing (9).

Eighty three-year-old talk show host Bill Cummingham was third.
