How to play:

Your task is to place the four arithmetical symbols (add, subtract, multiply and divide) in the four circles in such a way that the total product of each line across and down is the same. By repeatedly clicking on each circle you will be given the choice of symbol.

The solution to the puzzle will be a positive whole number, but remember that the result of the first calculation in each line could be to produce a negative number and/or a fraction.

For the purposes of this puzzle you should perform the first calculation in each line first and ignore the mathematical rule which says you should always perform multiplication and division before addition and subtraction.

How we score

For completing the puzzle correctly you will score 30 points.

Time bonus: For completing the puzzle within the target time of one minute you will score a further 30 points; for completing it within two minutes you will score 15 points. If you fail to get the puzzle correct you will not qualify for time bonus points, no matter how quickly you submit your entry.
