A quarter of a century after they played their first gig to around 2,000 at a packed Stonebridge Road football stadium, a band which has toured Europe and recorded four albums, is inviting old fans, friends and members to a reunion gig.
The Chosen Few, which began life as a rhythm and blues outfit from Gravesend before progressing to heavier rock, will be at The Three Daws pub on June 25 to celebrate 25 years.
Only Andrew Bright and Geoff Watts of the original band remain, but singer and guitarist Bright is hoping to assemble not only the existing line-up, but invite back bassist Bob Grounds, keyboard player Steve House and lead guitar Andy Whiteley.
“Over the years we have each had our brushes with mortality. We have lost a lot of friends and though the band has stayed together we have seen people come and go, so this is about getting everyone together under one roof for a party and to say we are still here,” said Bright, who grew up in Gravesend but now lives in Maidstone.
The Chosen Few was born after his band, Face in the Crowd, disbanded.
The reunion at the riverside pub is open to all.
