Photographer Marion Macalpine brings togetehr art, photography and ‘a key national issue’

London-based photographer Marion Macalpine is brining her photographic exhibition about the corporate take-over of the NHS to Whitstable.

After a career in critical management research and teaching in the public and voluntary sectors, Ms Macalpine is now using photography to raise and communicate critical concerns.

She states that How Come We Didn’t Know? deals with the issue of “the accelerating privatisationg of our NHS, the companied involved, and the consequences for us all of this shameful sell-out.

“The NHS is run down, multi-nationals profit, and health workers and patients suffer.”

The exhibition is sponsored by Canterbury and Whitstable Stop the Cuts, and supported by East Kent Keep Our NHS Public.

How Come We Didn’t Know? will run at the Fishlab Gallery, Oxford Street, from January 18 - 24 (10am-5.30am), and there will be a special viewing will take place on Saturday January 21 from 1pm-4pm, where visitors can meet Ms Macalpine as well as other NHS campaigners.
