A development at Pelham Towers in Gravesend has been completed, providing residents with 14 flats at an affordable rent.

The large, former family home, located in Gravesend’s historic quarter, has been refurbished, modernised and extended by the Hyde Group, retaining many of the building’s original gothic and renaissance features.

It worked in partnership with local builder firm Benning Brothers to redevelop the property using locally produced red brick, common to many buildings in the area.

Mike Johnson, the Hyde Group’s development director said: “Working with Gravesend Borough Council, we are pleased that we could keep many of the building’s striking gothic and renaissance features, whilst providing much needed affordable housing for local people.”
